    I lost my original Operating system i got along with my laptop. My lap got corrupted and I serviced my system re-installing the Operating system with the near by DELL service providers.

    But they gave only trial version of the operating system. It eill be better if i get the product key of my original OS or any other possiblities of making my OS genuine one??.

    Hi,

    I have Dell Inspiron N5010 which came with Windows 7 pro 32-bit installed out of the box, but unfortunately without the original disk. Now I am looking to upgrade my laptop to Windows 7 64-bit because I want to install more RAM. Though , I don't have Windows 7 disk, I can still download the ISO file from here by verifying my Product ID / Key. But, will the Windows 7-bit version accept , Windows 7 32-bit product ID? I just want to be sure before trying to make a fresh install. Any help would be appreciated. 

    PS: In case I want to upgrade to Windows 10, would it cause any issue?

    I had an incident with FREECELL; Forum: Ravi requested PC CHECKUP & send him results.

    How. ? It has been suggested I 'PRIVATE MESSAGE;' to Ravi asking for his EMAIL address.

    I have html output on my laptop.  I have seen Ravi's original response to my freecell question within FORUM. There might be something elementary which I have missed? It is not really question for telephone support?

    My Dell using Windows 8 64bit, but I want to downgrade to Windows 7 64bit.

    I try to install using UEFI bootable flasdisk but have an error.

    " Windows failed to start........

    To fix this problem .....

    File: \EFI\Microsoft\Boot\BCD

    Status : 0xc000000d

    info: an error ocurred while attempting to read thr boot configuration data."

    How to fix this problem?

    Hey Guys,

    I've just recieved a new Dell inspiron 15 5000 Series for a work, Immeditaly did a hard drive swap to a solid state and am attempting to boot windows 7 from a USB installer.  I know the USB installer works, but cannot get it to work on the PC.  It will go to the Windows 7 set up menu, go thru date/time etc, and then say it can not find the drivers.  

    Help??

    I am running Windows 7 on an Optiplex 780 desktop.  I would like to put the system image and a repair disc on a flash drive.  The choices appear to make this impossible.  Is there a way to do this?  Is it a bad idea?  If so, why?

    Hi,

    I have bought Dell Inspiron 7548 just one month back (<ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy>) since then I have been facing lot of issues.

    First within a month time the Mother board went bad, dell did not agree for replacing the laptop hence only option was to
    replace mother board. After replacing the mother board the system started crashing every 30 mins or so, dell advise was to upgrade the
    drivers. Now after upgrading the drivers I am facing with new issues.

    1.I keep getting DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION error and system crashes almost every 30 mins, is there any solution for this.
    2.If I hibernate the system and restart it the system crashes frequently,Can you pls help me to fix this.

    After buying this laptop for a good Rs 100,000=00, I feel I am spending more time on working on Dell laptop related issues rather than on my personal work. The whole idea of buying new laptop was to optimize my work, now this has added burden to my work.

    Any help is appreciated.

  • i am using dell inspiron 15-3521. recently in an attempt to dual boot ubuntu with preinstalled windows 8 i got my windows 8 formatted. Unfortunately i didn't extract the product key from windows previously.I couldn't find the product key in the cover or in the documents came along with the  laptop.I was not given any dvd for os as well. Only with that product key i can reinstall windows 8 again. So now what are the options left for me?. Is there any ways left to get the product key?

  • I am using dell xps14z with windows 7. I could not reserve Windows 10. As says Microsoft support, my os is not fully activated. They can do it only with that product key, but label is broken and i see only 20 signs... So now what are the options left for me?. Is there any ways left to get the product key?

    is there anyway for to do a test on my home made Recovery Disks before i install windows 10? i have a 3521 laptop. and seen a few people who did not succeed in using their recovery disks. the laptop came with windows 8. then upgraded to 8.1 before i made the recovery disks

    About 2 months ago had a PC issue where when shutting down windows update would just stay in the waiting update forever and pc would never shut down.

    I finally tired of this and performed a recovery from the recovery partition....during the recovery it errored out and asked for a Windows disk to complete the installation. Installation was fine from that point on....drivers were installed and all was good.....Except when I rebooted it said I needed to activate windows. I assumed that by calling customer service I would be able to get my windows Activation code but the gentleman on the phone said I would need to buy a whole new disk..I asked for escalation and he said no....the previous call the rep hung up on me once I said I needed help and did not have the code.

    This does not make much sense to me as I have already paid for the software...I have 2 of the exact systems and have been happy with them for the most part.

    I would like to consider Dell for my next purchase cycle as an Intel employee but if this is something I am going to have to resolve myself I will likely look at other options.

    Okay, once again I am back because of issues with my Dell Studio 1558.  This time,,, the issues being the video and chipset drivers.

    I have been told by a tech support person that my chipset and video drivers are out of date. Intel's auto detect confirms an update for the chipset,,, but fails to install it. And unable to install it manually. My question is,,, if my drivers are out of date, where in blue blazes do I get the updated ones? After all, the AMD site and Intel say the manufacturer,,, but Dell only has the oldest version listed.

    And will this also be an issue if I decided to upgrade the motherboard? If so,,, then I'll most likely be looking into a different brand for my next machine.

    OH, and I am unable to use servicetag simply cause this is a refurbed machine.

    I'm in the UK. I have a vostro 3500 with windows 7 32-bit. It came with the computer and has an OEM produck ID. After doing a windows update, on startup the screen went black. Startup repair doesn't work. I looked at disks I have from the original purchase but nothing says recovery or reinstallation. How can I get these disks (I also have a US address to which it could be sent)

    Almost 3 years ago I bought my Dell M4700, and with it I also payed the OS (W7). The things is I lost the serial code for Windows (which is sometimes in a label under the laptop, not in mine though), and when formating I installed a pirate version of it.

    Things is now WIndows asked me if I wanted to ugrade to windows 10 (which I want) but then it detected that my copy is pirate.

    I guess I have the right to ask Dell to give me my serial number right? Cause I payed for it, so I guess I deserve having it back.

    Just contacting technical support they will give it to me?

    My Windows 7 Professional laptop has been clean for a long time as I scan with AVG AntiVirus 2015 every night. Last night, it suddently detected a Trojan horse called "Trojan horse Inject2.BRWI" and the Object name is:  c:\Program Files (x86)\Dell\SupportAssistAgent\bin\SupportAssistAgent.exe (4712)" and is listed as High in Severity. I believe this program was pre-installed by Dell. Then why was it suddently detected as a Trojan horse. And was it installed by Dell? I read about the 'Inject2" Trojan horse and know how does it work. The only thing I found online is about the "Inject2,axkq" but not the "BRWI" which mine was.

    AVG could not remove it and suggested me to upgrade to AVG Internet Security. Will that remove this Trojan horse. And does anyone know does it work the same way as the ".axkq" And does it has anything to do with Dell?

    Any suggestions/comments are much appreciated.  Thank you very much.

    Hello, win 7 was reinstalled on my laptop using the dell usb key, there is no internet, the wifi driver was downloaded from dell onto another computer and transfered onto the system, but the executable file won't run. Do I need to download the other drivers and updates before the system recognises and runs this driver file, or is it more likely the file was corrupted? I'm away from home and a female friend is in charge of the computers, so I simply sent her a link for the dell download, it wasn't downloaded by clicking the Dell link in drivers and updates.

    Also, the factory restore function seems to be broken. I informed my friend just to do a simple system restore and she assumed I meant using the usb key for some reason, I think she may have destroyed the factory restore function. This is the last time I let anyone mess with my computer

    The desktop is a Dell Optiplex GX260, with Windows XP, Professional Version 2002 and Service Pack 3.

    For many years I have been using the System Tool,  Desk Cleanup to compress old files from the C: drive.

    I need help to access these compressed files, examine them if i can then delete most if not all of them.

    I have assumed that any file that the Desk Cleanup tool has compressed is no longer available or is used by any active programs in the computer. Is this a correct assumption ?

    What is the average memory space that one MG of file(s) memory is compressed to ?

    Any help and advice would be appreciated.
