Windows 7 requires me to repeatedly find file destination folder when saving files from Internet
I have to copy a number of files from a government
Internet web page. They are all .pdf files. They are
all going to the same folder here on my Windows 7
system. After finishing one file, I move on to another,
and find I have to select the destination folder all
over again. With XP I would find the destination
folder would remain, where I did not have to search
to locate it again. Is there a solution in the world
of Windows 7 ?
(This problem started on the Dell Laptop after I replaced a bad hard disk and followed Dell's instructions to re-install Windows 7 on the new hard disk. Windows 7 otherwise appears to work.)

Dell Backup and Recovery update problem
Hi,
I have a Dell Inspiron 17 with Windows 8.1 lately I encountered problems with SoftThinks Agent Service (32 bit) which hijacked all my disk and I wasn't able to work and had to restart my computer without even a chance to save my work.
I googled what that thing is connected to and it seems it was Dell Backup and Recovery some kind of module. So I went there and noticed that update is available.
When I click it I've got an information that update is available and if I want to start updating. When I click yes, downloading started but then window disappeared completely and noting happened. After restarting my laptop Dell Backup and Recovery wasn't available and had to be installed. I did that but still update was offered to me. Trying to update again ended up like last time.
I found here in the forum that someone recommend to uninstall Dell Backup and Recovery completely and download from the site new version and install it. However, for some reason I'm not able to sign in to www.dellbackupandrecovery.com (sign in button doesn't work in any of three browsers I've tried) and only thing I'm offered there is something called NetVault trial version.
I will be grateful for any help.

Wireless Mouse WM123 scroll button not working
I use a lot the scroll button of my dell mouse to pan and orbit on both AutoCAD and Sketchup, and suddently it stopped working. It is still working to roll pages on internet, but the click of the scroll button is not. The other two buttons are working fine. I tried reinstalling the driver and didn't work, think I might have bumped onto some keys on keyboard and that desactivated the function of click for the scroll.
Can anyone help me?

MT4 app fonts are tiny on 4k display
I just received my XPS 15 (9550) with 4K display (yesterday 02 Nov 2015) and regret.
I was so fascinated by the specs, footprint and build quality I forgot to google the Internet about the 4K display...that it is not for everybody...not yet it seems.
My prob: I need to run the MT4 Metatrader platform. The MT4 fonts, toolbar buttons, symbols (the UI basically) are so tiny...like looking at tiny ants...and using the magnifier available in Windows accessories is not the solution.
I was so bowled over by the xps 15 when I took delivery from the shop, I threw away the carton...
Anyone with any ideas how I might solve this problem?
Eventually, Metaquotes software company will have to upgrade the software for 4k display...not holding my breath there.

Dell Optiplex 790 problem with windows 7 licence

I have a problem with my optiplex 790.
Last week the hard drive failed. It still working very slowly but have alot of memory problems.
So i bought a new hard drive but then I realized that I have a problem with the windows 7. I dont have the original CD. I tried to install a new version of win 7 from the web with the old key licence but its tell me that the key is not legal.
is someone have a solution for me?

windows 10 upgrade problem
Dell Inspiron laptop previously running Windows 7 Home Edition I think.
Everything seemed to go smoothly. The new OS does take a bit to load but after a minute or two there is the desktop, for a few seconds anyway. Then it disappears. I've googled around and tried a few of the recommended solutions. Ran explorer.exe from the task manager. When I do that I see explorer in the process list, briefly, as it soon also disappears. I've checked the registry winlogin shell key to make sure explorer is there, which it is. I disabled all the startup stuff. No luck. I tried booting in safe mode without networking and the desktop still disappears after a few seconds. That's when I decided to post. Even safe mode doesn't work.
I can launch powershell and from there run stuff. Anyone experience this particular issue and solve it?

How to restore a Dell Inspiron One 2320?

I am not looking to upgrade it or anything... I am happy with windows 7... I do have two of these computers and the other is working fine...

Help needed with 0xc0000001 error while opening DRAB from boot menu and also unable to create recovery file from Dell backup and recovery.
I am using laptop dell inspiron 15 5558 with windows 8.1 pre-installed in it.

Help disabling touchpad: Inspiron N5110 Windows 7
I've tried all the intuitive options to disable the touch pad. I can't find a way to do it via the control panel which seems the most obvious way and FN+F3 doesn't do anything. Ideally I would like it to be inactive as long as a USB mouse is connected but at this point I'll take anything; I would be happy if I could just make it less sensitive even. I've never had a touch pad this hyper sensitive and I need a fix before I do something drastic. Please help.

Windows 7 compatible with Dell Inspiron 1420?
I cannot find on the Microsoft web site or Dell website if the Inspiron 1420 is compatible with Windows 7. It was originally loaded with Vista, which is problematical with some file functions I need. Can anyone help or point me to a resource? Thank you for any assistance.

Dell Inspiron 1545 get stuck in an infinite loop at start (Dell logo) screen
Please I need urgent help with my laptop, after time to time it begins to be slower, so I decided to make a recovery back up from fabric in an USB, then made a recovery, after that my laptop get stuck at the start screen, that gives you the f2 and f12 options, but only works f12 startup option, so I tried to boot from USB with my backup... it supposed to work or install the backup.... after reset or reboot, gets the infinite loop. Don't know what to do. HELP.
